The Fence Installation Process
There are a few steps involved in fence installation.
To start, you’ll need to clear the area where you want the fence to go. This includes getting rid of any plants, making sure the ground is level, and packing it down so it’s nice and flat.
After that’s done, you can start putting up your posts. For wood fences, this usually means digging a hole and setting the posts in concrete. If you’re doing a chain-link fence, then you’ll just attach the posts to metal anchors that are driven into the ground.
Once the posts are up, you can attach your fence panels or pickets. And that’s it! Your new fence is installed.
If you need help with any part of the process, give us a call. Lakewood Fence Company knows the ins and outs of fence installation and can do the whole job while you wait.
What Type of Fence Should I Install?
A few elements go into picking the right fence. Most importantly, what do you want it for? Are you looking to keep animals in (or out)? Do you need privacy? Or are you just trying to make your property look nicer?
If you know your goal, then you can pick the right type of fence. Wood is a more private and animal-friendly choice, while chain-link works best for safety or control. If appearance is key, wrought iron looks great but requires some upkeep. All fences need maintenance every few years: wood needs to be stained or sealed and can be damaged by insects; chain-link may rust if it’s not made of galvanized steel; wrought iron will need to be repainted regularly.
With so many choices on the market, it’s difficult to know where to start when picking a new fence. Should you go for wood, chain-link, or wrought iron? And once you’ve decided on the type of material, then what style should you choose?
